Femme Feral

Wild Wholeness + The Femme Feral: The wild woman is the unencumbered, unadorned, unabashed expression of raw creative power. She is the purest force of naturalness. She is being. The true wild woman exists beyond the bounds of gender and the commodified, patronizing motif we see given to the overrun term "wild woman" these days. She is not your fetish. She is not your social media starlet, your vision of the lust driven mad woman, screaming banshee or weathered crone. She is not your virgin or your whore, she is not your brand to sell, she is definitely not your mother. She is in fact, all of it. Everything. Everything, but yours to own. Empires are built and crumbled at her feet in futile pursuit of her containment. Her sovereignty is as impenetrable as her heart is open. She exists only for the expression her existence offers in service of creation itself.

And, her expression is vast. Her femininity isn’t bound to the boxes we typically stuff it in. She doesn’t have to writhe around in mud or howl at the moon or appropriate ancient culture to legitimize herself. Her expression lives deep in the most receptive parts of our yearning hearts. She is in the horrified ecstacy of the birthing mother, and the tender heartache of the father-of-the-bride. She is in the barefoot hippie and the stilettoed CEO. She is in the fearless girl, eagerly devouring life. And she is in the tearful boy, free to express his pain.

She is the Femme Feral. To even whisper her expression into your life is to participate in a deep healing in yourself and this world.

But, she is not pretty. She is not the "nice girl" many of us were brought up to be. She's is not here to please you. If you get a taste of her wild medicine, she will ignite your heart in unquenchable yearning, which you will learn to bear even as it breaks you open— for the depth and pleasure and richness she imbues into your life will be worth it. If you chase after her, you will never catch her. You must be willing to sit in the fire of your yearning, feed the flames with your spacious breath and discover your wild aliveness in its heat. Your courageous willingness to tend to the fire of your yearning is what draws Femme Feral out of the shadows to dance in the warmth of your light.

Only then we can learn from her, laugh with her, listen to her unique expression inside our soul, and align ourselves with the source of all creation in service of our individual and collective wholeness. 

My name is Mary Diaz and I support clients in giving reverence to the wisdom in their wildness.
